Shop alterations 2023

Alterations to an unused shop premises near Stroud.

This started as a large wall/floor tiling job but additional works were needed as the property took shape. A staircase was turned around to allow an upper floor to be rented separately. The upper floor became a small office with a kitchenette, a new uPVC window was fitted and decoration throughout.

A partition was constructed on the ground floor and a suspended ceiling repaired with new ceiling tiles /lights fitted.

A rear outer store room was refurbished, to include a cloakroom and office. A new flat roof deck and membrane was fitted to make it water tight.

Upper Garage room renovation.

The Client is very pleased with the improvement of a 1st floor garage storage space. This is now an Office (or potential additional guest room).

The garage had an existing timber staircase with balustrades to the storage space. The floor area is now increased by extending it into the stairwell and changing the balustrades to a partition wall. Two additional partition walls are built under the horizontal roof timbers to create hidden storage areas.

To improve the energy efficiency, the roof is now insulated and the whole room plastered and decorated.

The Client is impressed with the finished work, resulting in another Project at the property – replacement of a kitchen.

“Ade completely refurbished the dormer on my bungalow. He installed a warm (insulated) glassfibre roof, insulation in side cheeks, new windows, cladding and guttering. I found Ade to be hard working and conscientious. He has traditional craft skills and clearly likes to do a good job. I would have no hesitation in using Ade again”.
