In this category you can find examples of past building work that I have undertaken. I will continue to update this category with all future jobs and will try to show as many (local to stroud) previous jobs so you can see the quality of my work.
Upper Garage room renovation.
The Client is very pleased with the improvement of a 1st floor garage storage space. This is now an Office (or potential additional guest room).
The garage had an existing timber staircase with balustrades to the storage space. The floor area is now increased by extending it into the stairwell and changing the balustrades to a partition wall. Two additional partition walls are built under the horizontal roof timbers to create hidden storage areas.
To improve the energy efficiency, the roof is now insulated and the whole room plastered and decorated.
The Client is impressed with the finished work, resulting in another Project at the property – replacement of a kitchen.
Conversion of a double garage to self-contained Annexe
The Client’s family are delighted with their new self-contained Annexe.
The conversion required Planning Permission and Building Control approval which the Client had already obtained from the Local Authority.
The work to be done included –
- Supply of water, electric and drainage, connected to the Clients main residence nearby,
- Insulation of walls internally with damp proofing measures;
- Addition of new roof window, uPVC windows and door, with blocking up of original garage door entrance,
- Internal works with partitioning, plastering, electrical work and plumbing,
- Fit out with kitchen and shower room,
- Final carpentry works for doors, skirtings, architraves and timber/laminate flooring.
The final layout includes a side entrance door to the lounge/kitchen area with a door to the bedroom and ensuite shower room. Approximate internal dimensions are 4.8m x 4.8m
Garage Conversion/Renovation
Conversion of a standard garage, fully insulated to provide a separate bedroom with en-suite shower room and kitchen/utility.
New Patio Door and window installed.
Factory Renovation Works
A recent job at DKM Sheet Steel Works in Stonehouse, Glos.
Customer wanted the walls knocked through and new supporting steels installed so their fork lifts could move easier between buildings.
New Shower room combined with a utility areaSpillmans Pitch, Stroud
General upgrade to a property in Spillmand Pitch, Stroud.
New roof including velux windows, a new door, new lintel to match existing features and support the new kitchen design.
Cranham Scout Hut
After a vehicle recently hit the scout hut, I was asked to reconfigure the building. Customer asked for PVC cladding on the outside.

Another little job completed in 2014 in Reservoir Close, Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Customer had a problem with damp.
I stripped back the roof tiles and discovered the insulation was not adequate and that it was causing a damp spot. The felt had also rotted out. Replaced this with a new breathable felt at the bottom of the roof and replaced the insulation.
I also treated the timber work to help prevent future decay.

Little Repair Job in Ebley, Stroud
Didn’t take many photo’s of this particular job!
I repaired the lead sheet to the dormer window, also replaced the broken tiles. A little job, didn’t take me very long!
